Trauma Therapy
Specialist Trauma Therapy
I specialise in working with adults who have experienced complex, repeated, or interpersonal trauma, including those who may have struggled to find help elsewhere.
About Trauma Therapy
My approach to trauma therapy
My approach is integrative and formulation-based. This means therapy begins with developing a shared understanding of how your experiences have affected you, rather than focusing solely on symptoms or diagnoses.
From this formulation, I carefully select evidence-based trauma interventions that are most appropriate for you. Therapy is paced, collaborative, and grounded in compassion, with close attention to emotional safety.
I have extensive experience working with:
- Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) and PTSD
- Dissociation and dissociative presentations
- Trauma-related shame, guilt, and self-criticism
- Nervous system dysregulation and emotional overwhelm
Areas I work with include
- Trauma related to pregnancy or birth
- Traumatic bereavement
- Sexual abuse and sexual violence
- Physical abuse
- Childhood abuse and neglect
- Survivors of torture and prisoners of conscience
- Military and combat-related trauma
- Moral injury (experiences that conflict with deeply held moral or ethical values)
Trauma-focused therapy involves working directly with the traumatic experiences that continue to affect you. While this can feel challenging, it is a vital part of recovery.
I work using evidence-based trauma models, including Cognitive Therapy for PTSD (CT-PTSD), EMDR and Compassion Focused Therapy, alongside other specialist approaches where appropriate. These are well-established and effective treatment models that focus on:
- Understanding how trauma has impacted you and others
- Processing traumatic memories so they feel less intrusive and overwhelming
- Reducing ongoing threat responses in the mind and body
- Supporting reconnection with life, relationships, and meaning
- Developing a compassionate relationship with yourself and others

Common Questions About Services
Frequently Asked Questions
Still have you any question?
No. You do not need a diagnosis or to be certain that what you experienced “counts” as trauma. If your experiences continue to affect your sense of safety, identity, or relationships, trauma-informed therapy may be helpful.
This is a very common concern. Trauma therapy is paced with close attention to emotional safety and nervous system regulation. You will be supported throughout the process and not left alone with distress.
There is no fixed timeline. The length of therapy depends on your experiences, goals, and pace. This is something we will review together as therapy progresses.
Yes. Trauma-focused therapy can be delivered effectively online, and many people find it offers greater comfort and accessibility. I am currently offering online sessions only.
